I still remember the first horse I met... A Black Percheron Mare named Queenie... It was winter in Saskatchewan, and I was three years old ... I remember her huge liquid eyes, and her gentle muzzle sniffing me... I remember my Dad lifting me up on top of her, and my leotards (inside my little pants) split as she was so big.
Somehow, that one interaction ignited something in me, and I went "Horse Crazy". I had been drawing since I could hold a crayon, and after meeting Queenie, I started drawing hroses and wanting to hear stories about them.
My Grandma told me that wishes made on White Horses would come true, and I wished on every White Horse I ever saw...
I wished that one day I would have a horse of my own.
At 12 years old, my wonderful Mom and Dad decided to find a horse for me, and the bravest, most beautiful two year old unmarked Appaloosa named Venjor came into my life.
I have had horses in my life ever since. And, I am still "Horse Crazy".
Denis and I now breed Mangalarga Marchadors, which are the National Horse of Brazil and one of the most amazing breeds I have ever met! My inspiration is right outside the door, and greeting us with a nicker every morning.
